Safety & Risk Management

Developing risk registers, enforcing safety protocols, and coordinating risk workshops with project partners.

Safety is non-negotiable on every construction project. Studio Scope develops and maintains comprehensive risk management frameworks that protect workers, the public, and your project from foreseeable hazards — in full compliance with WHS legislation.

We develop project risk registers, facilitate regular risk workshops, and monitor the implementation of risk controls throughout the construction phase. Our approach is proactive — identifying and mitigating risks before they become incidents.

We work with builders, designers, and consultants to ensure that safety plans are practical, site-specific, and regularly updated. From Safety in Design through to construction and handover, safety is embedded in every decision we support.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Who is responsible for WHS on a construction site?

Under the OHS Act 2004 (Victoria), all duty holders share responsibility for workplace health and safety. As project managers, we ensure that WHS obligations are clearly defined, communicated, and monitored — but the builder, principal contractor, and individual workers all carry statutory duties.

How often do you conduct risk workshops?

We typically facilitate risk workshops at key project milestones — project inception, pre-construction, during construction at regular intervals, and pre-handover. For high-risk activities, we conduct additional task-specific risk assessments with the construction team.

Do you review builder safety plans?

Yes. We review all builder safety management plans, safe work method statements (SWMS), and traffic management plans before work commences. We also conduct regular site safety observations and report on compliance with approved safety documentation.
